Lakeshore Liquids Recovery began construction of a new natural gas liquids (NGL) separation plant with carbon capture in Otsego County, Michigan on January 27, 2023. The company has entered into an agreement with binding EPC contract and the new plant located at the Dover 36 production facility currently operated by Core Energy, LLC. The new plant will use advanced technology to separate NGLs such as butane, ethane and other high end hydrocarbon gas components from a carbon dioxide gas stream and capture the CO2 that would otherwise be emitted to the atmosphere. The objective of this project is to provide additional revenue through the sale of otherwise unmarketable natural gas liquids along with carbon capture activity that is eligible for 45Q tax credits.
While there are no future projects on the horizon at the moment, our team is always looking for viable project locations.
